Wow! What a last 14 months the world has experienced, with the Covid pandemic consuming our lives! This has been a time of support, compassion, and understanding, as we have banded together to fight this disease, and restore hope....and what better example of these principles, then the Comrades Marathon....and this year's Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge. The 10 Comrades that I have run have all been centred around raising funds for various charities, and this year would have been my first Comrades in my GREEN Number, so what better charity for me to support this year, than WILDLANDS, who are encouraging runners to "Run for Community & Conservation!" Wildlands achieves this by marrying human wellbeing with environmental sustainability and, in doing so, improving the livelihoods of communities, whilst restoring the ecosystems that support them. WILDLANDS encourages the employment and upskilling of the youth and the empowerment of communities to deliver a sustained and improved environment, so I hope that you'll support me this year, in achieving my target of raising the equivalent of my Comrades (GREEN) number - 43085 - hhmm….let's add a "zero"....R430850....beating the R320 000 that I raised during my last Comrades....to assist WILDLANDS in not only creating employment and educating today, but providing HOPE for a better TOMORROW.
